Every year around fall time, the prestigious paint brand Sherwin-Williams predicts the color of the year (COTY) for the following year. This year we were surprised by the warm tenderness of a beige touched by a summer bronze – Redend Point (SW 9081).

Sue Wadden, the brand’s color marketing director, describes this color perfectly: “It’s if beige could blush,”. It is a breath of fresh air, especially when compared to the more nostalgic and cooler tones of previous years (2022’s Evergreen Fog & 2021’s Urbane Bronze).

The best thing about this color of the year for 2023, is that it looks great in any room of the house, from the living room, to the dining room, to the bedroom, to the kitchen, in a hallway, or even in a reading corner. In addition, the Sherwin-Williams website provides an interactive color viewer that allows you to change room colors and see which palette best matches your chosen color.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Besides announcing the color of the year for 2023, Sherwin-Williams also presented the Terra Colormix Forecast 2023. A collection composed of 40 trend colors across four palettes, inspired by the natural interweaving of ourselves and our spaces.

Redend Point is part of the Nexus color palette, described as “a quiet place of healing, a realm where the energy we give is returned to us tenfold, where the warmth of loving kindness reminds us what it feels like to come home. Enkindle a sense of support and serenity with a potter’s palette of natural clays and sunbaked desert sands, grounding brown, and soft, soulful white.”
